How do I make a reservation?
Reservations at Fernweh can be booked on the most popular vacation channels, but most of our savings and specials can be found by booking directly on AirBnB, Vrbo, & Koze

Can I bring my dog?
YES! We are proud to offer pet-friendly rentals near the Guadalupe River. At Fernweh Riverfront, our Capri unit is dog-friendly, and Fernweh Hillside allows pets in units 1, 2, 5, and 6. We understand that your pets are part of the family, and we are happy to welcome them to enjoy the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country with you. With nearby hiking trails, outdoor spaces, and plenty of room to roam, your furry companions will love staying at Fernweh as much as you do. Just let us know in advance so we can prepare for your stay in one of our pet-friendly units.
How do I rent tubes?
Access to our tubes is complimentary during your stay. You can get directly into the Guadalupe River from our Fernweh Riverfront property, which all Fernweh guests can access. If you desire to float the river, we will make arrangements with one of our outfitter partners for a nominal shuttle fee (tube is included). When making your reservation, let us know if you would like us to make arrangements on your behalf.
Is there an on-site bar?
The Fernweh property is home to Billy Goat’s Gruff, the only float-up bar & grill on the Guadalupe River, located between the 2nd and 3rd crossing on River Road in New Braunfels, Texas. The bar operates Fridays and Saturdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Fernweh guests have access to the main grub shack, and tubers can simply float on over to the river’s edge bar to place their food and beverage order – never having to get out of your tube! Forms of payment accepted: cash, card, ApplePay, and Venmo!
Is Fernweh a good place to stay for fishing?
Yes! We are the perfect vacation rental for trout fishing on the Guadalupe. The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department stocks the Guadalupe River with trout WEEKLY from December through February every year. Don’t delay - book your guided trips with the best outfitters on the river:

When is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is after 4:00 p.m. Check-out is before 11:00 a.m. If you need an early check-in or a late check-out, please reach out to us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request based on availability.
Are there nearby attractions and activities in New Braunfels?
Absolutely! New Braunfels offers a wide range of attractions and activities, from live music at Greune Hall to the Schlitterbahn Waterpark to Wurstfest in November. Visit our Fernweh NBTX guide for more information.
How far are the cottages from the Guadalupe River?
Fernweh Riverfront has direct access to the Guadalupe River, and the cottages are only a few hundred feet from the bank. Fernweh Hillside sits on the opposite side of River Road and is about 0.25 miles from the Fernweh Riverfront.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
Our cancellation policy is designed to be flexible while ensuring that we can properly manage our bookings:
100% refund if you cancel 30 days or more before your arrival date.
50% refund if you cancel 14 days before your arrival date.
Unfortunately, cancellations made within 14 days of your arrival are non-refundable.
We understand that plans can change, and we strive to make our policy as guest-friendly as possible while still accommodating all our travelers.
